About House of Yarrow

Meet Kimberly Mae, a devoted mom, loving wife, and passionate home cook who has embarked on an exciting new chapter in the Philippines. Born and raised in Colorado to an American father and Filipina mother, she has a heart for both American comfort food and the vibrant flavors of Filipino cuisine. She’s on a mission to bring the best of both cultures to the table.

Her kitchen is all about simplicity without sacrificing flavor. Quick weeknight dinners, kid-approved dishes, and creative twists on classic recipes. Whether she’s putting a Filipino spin on an American favorite or introducing her family to new tastes, her goal is the same: to create mindful, nourishing, fuss-free meals full of love.

House of Yarrow isn’t just about food though, it’s about gentle homemaking. Passionate about natural wellness, she relies on time-tested home remedies to keep her family healthy. Whipping up DIY solutions using local ingredients, she is able to soothe tummy aches with ginger tea or ease colds with honey and calamansi.

Join Kimberly Mae as she explores the best of both worlds, where homemade meals and natural wellness go hand in hand.

Welcome to House of Yarrow. Where two cultures meet, one bite and sip at a time.

At House of Yarrow, I bridge my American kitchen roots with the bold, umami-rich ingredients I’ve fallen for in my new home, the Philippines.

Whether it’s giving adobo a cozy twist or turning caldereta into a kid-friendly meal, you’ll find me:

🥘 Swapping cream based soups with coconut milk for a sweet and rich flavor.
🍝 Tossing pancit noodles into my meals instead of pasta.
🥥 Baking with ube and macapuno to give vanilla a rest.
🌶️ Spiking chili with siling labuyo when it needs some extra heat.

It’s my mission to make these bold flavors accessible to all, using:

  • Filipino pantry staples you can find internationally
  • Simple adaptations to classic American dishes
  • Ingredient guides for curious cooks
  • Practical tips to make cooking joyful, not stressful. Who has time to chiffonade basil at 6 PM? Do I even know how to chiffonade basil? Why do I keep saying chiffonade basil?

Think of me as your kitchen BFF, here to help you create meals focused on simplicity, big flavor, keeping picky eaters happy, and maybe even sneaking some veggies into those tiny humans. (No promises, but we’ll try.) I’m right there with you, sometimes taking those frozen and canned goods shortcuts, because I have to get back to singing, “The Wheels on the Bus”. You get it.

Join me as I share my joyful kitchen adventures where two cultures collide, and every meal is a chance to create something tasty, easy, and full of love. Kain tayo!

Shortly after arriving in the Philippines, I discovered that the vibrant ingredients flavoring my dishes could also work wonders in my medicine cabinet.

At House of Yarrow, I blend traditional Filipino pantry remedies with modern wellness practices for simple, natural healing by:

🍯 Swapping honey with raw coconut nectar to soothe sore throats
🌿 Steeping ginger turmeric tea instead of reaching for pills
🍃 Using malunggay (moringa) powder to boost smoothies and immunity
🥥 Making virgin coconut oil my go-to for everything from skin salves to oil pulling

I’m passionate about:

  • Experimenting with and sharing natural home remedies because mom-life demands it
  • Adapting local superfoods for everyday wellness (no fancy ingredients needed!)
  • Educating myself and others on herbal benefits because natural shouldn’t mean complicated

From calamansi and honey cough syrup to guava leaf mouthrinses, I draw from both my American upbringing and Filipino traditions. I believe in natural, effective care that starts in the pantry, not the pharmacy.
